Elijah Murphy, M.A., L.P.A., is a 5th-year Ph.D candidate in clinical psychology at the University of Houston. Mr. Murphy is originally from Washington, D.C., and received his bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology at American University. Since beginning at the University of Houston, Mr. Murphy has received a master’s in clinical psychology and has become a licensed psychological associate in the state of Texas. Mr. Murphy is dedicated to having an equity-aligned career as a clinical psychologist. His research includes elucidating strength-based pathways to healing for people of the global majority. He seeks to combat racism in its many forms while finding ways to promote thriving despite an oppressive society. Through research, clinical practice, teaching, and advocacy, he remains committed to promoting racial justice and health equity. Read more about Mr. Murphy’s career to date below.
